Mayor's Message

Comox is a wonderful community, located half way up Vancouver Island, at the northern end of the Strait of Georgia. We are a jumping off place for vessels transiting to Alaska or heading to Desolation Sound. We are a friendly community that is concerned about our environment and cherishes our green spaces.

The Town is in excellent financial shape while our taxes are one of the lowest on Vancouver Island. Our airport, which services the entire Comox Valley, has regularly scheduled flights to both Vancouver (30 minutes away) and Calgary (1 hour 15 minutes away). This may be one of the reasons that so many people choose our valley to vacation. It may also be that we have the third largest ski resort in British Columbia, our own glacier, fabulous mountains and mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, fishing and year round golf. Or it could just be that we have wonderful people who care about visitors. We would like you to visit and enjoy our wonderful shops, restaurants, pubs, parks, playgrounds, golf courses and marina.

Comox is open for business, we'd love to see you here.

— Paul Ives, Mayor
