3. Why is my program cancelled?
Most programs have a minimum required registration to cover the costs of the instructor and program supplies. Most likely the minimum registration was not met so regretfully, the class was canceled.

4. I want to withdraw from a program. What are my options?

Refunds may be issued under the following circumstances:

1. Classes cancelled by Comox Recreation:

  • Full or pro-rated refund as appropriate.

2. Customer withdrawal:

  • Full or pro-rated refund as appropriate
  • Withdrawal five or more days prior to program start date; full refund, no penalty
  • Less than five days prior to program start date; full refund, $5 + GST administration fee charged per program
  • After a program has begun, pro-rated refund based on the date Comox Recreation receives notification of withdrawal; $5 + GST administration fee charged per program
  • Full or pro-rated refund as appropriate with a doctor’s note; no penalty
  • No refunds issued after a program has ended

Please allow 2 weeks for cheque refunds to be processed.

3. Contractor programs:

  • Programs that end with "- C" are offered by independent contractors. Registration adn refund polices are at their discretion. Refunds subject to $11 - GST adminstration fee per registration.

5. What can I do if I've lost my punch card?

Treat punch cards like cash. Sorry, punch cards are non replaceable if lost, stolen or destroyed.

6. Why are there age restrictions for classes?
Classes work well when like ages/maturity levels are grouped. In some cases classes are modified for age because of liability, the relative complexity of the program or other conditions that impact program quality.

7. How do I teach a class at the Community Centre?
Contact Recreation Supervisor Shawn Bourgoin with your program ideas, resume and references.

8. What should I wear to the Fitness Studio?
Wear shorts or exercise pants, running shoes and top that does not constrict your arms or chest.

9. Does my class require a uniform? Where do I get this uniform?
Most programs requiring a uniform are taught by contractors. Ask the program instructor for more information and where to buy them.

10. Where are you located?

11. How does PerfectMind (the Community Centre's accounting, registration and facility management software) manage privacy and security?
