Next Council approved the minutes of the June 21st Regular Council Meeting and the June 7th Special Council Meeting (public hearing). Council received the Management Report (unfinished business). Council adopted bylaws rezoning 290 Anderton Road and authorized conditional issue of a Development Permit for the property. Council similarly adopted bylaws authorizing rezoning of 1182 Lazo Road and authorized conditional issue of a Development Permit and Development Variance permit for the property. Council then received minutes from the Regional District Board meeting of June 27th. Next Council give First, Second and Third Reading to a bylaw amending the 2017 - 2021 Financial Plan. Council approved a $40,000 increase to the budget for the change room renovations at the community centre. Council appointed Clive Freundlich as Financial Officer and gave him signing authority for the Town. Council authorized expenditure of up to $2,000 for parade souvenirs and supplies for the Nautical Days parade. Council gave First and Second reading of a rezoning bylaw for 337 Church Street and authorized a public hearing on August 2nd in Council Chambers. Council authorized staff submission of an infrastructure Planning Grant application to the Province for design of a roundabout at Comox Avenue and Glacier View Drive. Council received the 2016 Annual Report and authorized publication. Council received correspondence from Gord Baudais (use of golf carts on Town roads), CV Pickleball Association (requesting pickleball lines on tennis courts), and from the CV Naturalists Society (requesting use of the Town's logo in a brochure). Council recognized Mandy Johns (Recreation Director) for her many years of service as she prepares to retire. Lastly, Council adjourned the meeting for a public hearing scheduled for 6:30 pm.

Meeting began with Council approving the minutes of the June 7th Regular Council Meeting and receiving the Management Report (on unfinished business) and Comox Valley RD Meeting Minutes from May 30th and June 8th. Council then authorized transfer of the proceeds from the sewer apportionment settlement into the Sewer Utility Reserve Fund, and directed staff to amend the Financial Plan to include this transaction. Council gave First & Second Reading (+3 min) to a Rezoning Amendment Bylaw for 2270 McKenzie Avenue (to allow a coach house) and authorized a public hearing on the bylaw (for 6:30 pm July 5th in Council Chambers). Council received (+7 min) correspondence from Cliffe Street Centre Limited regarding illegal dumping along Cambridge Road, and referred that to the Regional District for enforcement under its new illegal dumping prevention program. Council also received letters from Shaw TV (letter of support for licence), from Beaufort Ave residents (Ellis intersection concerns), and from Mark Isfeld School (Grad Cruise). Council members reported (+16 min) on the meetings and events they individually attended since the last Council meeting.
