The marinas are protected by rock breakwaters which is in turn protected by the Goose Spit which extends out into Comox Harbour, providing one of the safest year-round harbours on Vancouver Island. The Comox Harbour is a great launching spot for some of the best salmon fishing in the world. The Comox (municipal) Marina offers a boat launch and is located right next to Marina park with plenty of parking, washroom facilities and a play area for children. A two minute walk is all that is required to reach the shopping, pubs, and restaurants of downtown Comox.

Boat Launch and Tidal Grids:

The municipal Boat Launch and two Tidal Grids are available for use – view user fees here – please note the closure dates below.

The Tidal Grids must be booked 'in person’ at Comox Town Hall (M-F 8:30am – 4:30pm)at 1809 Beaufort Avenue.

Comox Nautical Days event:
This three-day event takes place each year on the BC Day Long Weekend. The Municipal BOAT LAUNCH, two TIDAL GRIDS and two MARINA PARKING LOTS will be CLOSED during the 3-day event: August 3-5, 2013. View the closure details on the event website

Snow to Surf event:
This one-day Adventure Relay Race takes place each year after Mt. Washington has closed for their winter season. The event utilizes the Comox Municipal boat launch as their “finish line” therefore this BOAT LAUNCH will be CLOSED on the day of the event (Sunday, April 28th, 2013)from 7am-5pm.
