Glacier View Drive and Comox Avenue Roundabout

The Comox Valley Regional District and the Town of Comox have come to an agreement to include key infrastructure projects for the Town of Comox as part of the Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Project. This will minimize construction and traffic disruptions for all impacted residents. One of the projects is the Glacier View Drive and Comox Avenue roundabout.  

• The current intersection of Comox Ave, Glacier View Dr. and Aitken St. makes it difficult to turn from Glacier View or Atikens onto Comox Ave.  
• To solve this a single roundabout is planned at Glacier View, along with turning restrictions at Aitken St.  

Benefits of Roundabouts:

• Decrease overall wait times 
• Reduces speed coming into the Town
• Decreased collision impacts 
• Increased pedestrian safety 
• Easier access onto arterial from neighbourhoods
