Wood Smoke Reduction Program

Wood Smoke Reduction Program

The purpose of the Wood Smoke Reduction Program is to minimize the impact of residential wood burning on air quality in communities throughout the Comox Valley.

2020 Rebate Program

The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) has $700 rebates available on a first-come first-served basis to homeowners who are exchanging a 5+ year old wood stove for a pellet stove, gas heating appliance (propane or natural gas) or a heat pump. To target areas with higher concentrations of wood smoke, a limited number of $2500 top up rebates are available for exchanging to an electric heat pump if the property is located within West Courtenay (lands west of the Courtenay River) or the Village of Cumberland.
