Birthday Wishes to WWII Veteran James Francis "Stocky" Edwards - Celebrating 100 Years, June 5

The Town of Comox extends its heartfelt congratulations to WWII veteran James Francis "Stocky" Edwards as he celebrates his 100th birthday today (June 5). In addition to raising his family in Comox and receiving the Freedom of the Town, his life has included enrolling in the Canadian Forces in 1940 and serving for 32 years, rising through the ranks to become Wing Commander. He flew in over 370 missions and mastered a range of planes with such skill including the P-40 Kittyhawk to Spitfires, and later jets. Read more about Stocky and the planned celebrations.
