It’s hard to believe that the Comox Community Centre started 2022 with COVID protocols, checking vaccinations and capping class sizes to ensure mandated physical distancing. The Centre finished with open programming and facility access and a return to something almost normal!
Here are some of the many highlights of 2022:
Special Events
Family Day - February 21
The event was held outdoors in a new format with COVID protocols in place. It was a registered event that was filled with 25 families and over 100 participants.

Operation Highjump - September 23
Approximately 100 athletes and supporters attended. The Kiwanis Club of Courtenay supported the event with eight Kiwanis volunteers and a $1000 donation. There were so many smiles and appreciation for offering the event.

Polar Bear Swim - January 1, 2023
With the event on a new day and running for the first time in-person since COVID, the swim attracted 225 participants, 100 more than in 2019. It was sponsored by CVRD Recreation and Easy Treats Chocolates.
