The Town of Comox has many ways for residents to make their vote count in the upcoming local government election, this includes the option to vote by mail. Mail ballot packages will be available the week of September 26, 2022.

All eligible voters who are on the voters list and who wish to vote by mail ballot must apply to receive a mail ballot voter package. We encourage you to apply no later than Thursday, October 13 to provide sufficient time to receive and return the mail ballot.  If you are or will be of town and need to have the mail ballot mailed to you, we encourage you to apply no later than Friday, September 23.

If your application is accepted residents will receive their mail ballot package through Canada Post standard mail service or it can be picked up at Town Hall. If you will be outside of Canada between September 23 and October 15, 2022, it is strongly recommended that you designate someone to pick up your mail ballot package on your behalf and express post it to your out-of-country location.

“Residents are responsible for ensuring that the completed ballot is received by the Chief Election Officer by 8:00 p.m. on general voting day, Saturday, October 15,” said Shelly Russwurm, the Town’s Chief Election Officer. “This can be done by ensuring delivery to Town Hall by 4:30 p.m. Friday, October 14 or to the Comox Community Centre by 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15.”

Voters in the Town will be asked to elect one mayor and six councillors and one school trustee for School District No. 71. Voters can also vote in-person at advance voting days or on the election day, October 15, as follows:
