Parks and forests within the Town of Comox require dogs to be on leash at all times - this includes the North East Woods in north Comox.
If you want to have a dog off leash please be aware that:
- There are off-leash areas in the Comox Valley Regional District - learn more.
- There is a dedicated off-leash dog park in the Town of Comox at the site of the former Comox Elementary School - see map below.
- The space is a simple area with 4-foot-high fencing that surrounds a 32,000-square-foot area. The park is equipped with a water fountain, doggy doo-doo bag dispenser and collection bin, as well as picnic tables for owners to watch their dog off-leash. Eight new trees were recently planted in May 2023.
- In the summer of 2024, a small dog space was added. This dedicated area is designed especially for smaller four-legged pals, giving them a safe and fun environment to run, play, and socialize.
Please enjoy! Be respectful of other dogs and cleaning up after your dog.
